Often known as the Netizen, we are a group of people who come from diverse backgrounds including business, design, engineering, social science and all our team members are able to speak at least 2 different languages fluently. Our enthusiasm for User Experience has brought us together to make the web a better place through our user-centered approaches. We’ve been providing UX & analytics expertise to forward-thinking companies in Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong, China, Taiwan, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, and Philippines
Alvin is the principal consultant of Netizen Experience. He is also a guest author for an online Asian tech news portal on the subject of user testing & research. Besides, he also conducts training workshops for companies so that they are empowered to build better and more user friendly products through user research and testing. He helps companies to understand why people are leaving their website/apps and how to fix them. Alvin is a foodie and likes experimental food projects.
Wee Li was previously a trained engineer who worked for a multinational company and has been providing consultancy services to enterprises since 2011 and currently leads the enterprise client support team. He is a guest lecturer at National University of Singapore (NUS) on the subject of user testing and user research. He also runs workshops to help product teams to understand their users and build better products. Wee Li is a big supporter of soccer since young.
Selina enjoys communicating user research findings to enhance the user interaction with digital products. Her meticulousness in analyzing usability issues provides helpful insights to the research teams. Selina also has a keen eye and assists in the design process. She is a music lover and follows her idols closely.
With a background in Industrial and Applied Statistics, Xiao Yan applies her skills to make sense of user behaviour through digital analytics. She enjoys dealing with numbers and transforming digital data into useful business insights for clients’ businesses. Apart from that, she loves swimming and Winnie the Pooh is her favourite character!
User Researcher & Data Analyst
With a background in actuarial science and interest in programming, Kai Siang applies his analytical mind to extract business insights by measuring vast amounts of digital data, helping the client to unlock business opportunities. He has a keen interest in origami, 3D printing and badminton.
With a degree in game development majoring in game design, Nikhilesh looks at the picture from both the user’s perspective as well as the business aspect of a product. He believes users and players are the same people and uses his knowledge of UI, level design and game world creation to help provide a meaningful and positive user experience. He enjoys strategy and rhythm games, anime and appreciates a wide genre of music.
Stella’s background in Psychology fuels her deep interest to understand the perspectives of users. By applying her research skills, she hopes to uncover users’ viewpoint and hence improve their interaction with the digital platforms. Aside from that, she enjoys crocheting or water coloring while watching movies.
Aina Syasya Azlin
Aina’s passion in applying psychology to technology drives her to understand the necessity to provide better user experience for users in consideration to what the client can provide. She believes in the need to humanize the digital space for a better experience for all and subsequently enjoys catching up with the latest research and technology in the budding field of UX. In her spare time, Aina enjoys a myriad of things like games and anime as well as dice making, crafting all sorts of things and of course Dungeons and Dragons!
Data tells us what, but users tell us why. Winnie has always been an observer, user advocate and minimalist who believes that all design work should keep user needs in mind. The passion of understanding how people think, feel and behave carried Winnie through her study in Psychological Science. She applies her psychology knowledge and research skill to create innovative solutions that address users’ problems in digital experience. Outside of work, Winnie recharges herself by listening to soundtracks and playing mobile games.
Beatrice believes in the importance of understanding user needs to create usable and easy-to-navigate platforms for all. Utilizing her background in psychology and research skills, she aims to provide UX solutions which can meet client expectations while upholding user satisfaction. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, watching anime and treasure-hunting at thrift stores.
Angela’s interest in UX research and design started when she uncovered the world of “Human Factors” in her undergraduate studies. As a result, she has been intrigued to learn more about the application of psychological and physiological principles to the design of products. Currently, Angela utilizes her background in psychology to uncover users’ thoughts and behaviors on digital platforms to further enhance their digital experiences. Outside of work, she is a foodie and coffee enthusiast that finds joy in watching anime and solving mystery games.
With a background in International Business, Jessica has always been passionate to understand different cultures and talk to new people. As a researcher, she enjoys learning new things and believes that everyone deserves a good experience on digital platforms. Because of that, she aims to improve UX design that can save users’ time through research. In her free time, Jessica likes to explore the world by traveling and cafe-hopping.
Anna’s passion for UX research and design can be traced back to her university days, where she designed and optimized the usability of her own website. Her current work is focused on uncovering user insights that help to make people’s life easier without sacrificing the business needs. Her professional study and experience in culinary arts see her crafting new secret recipes in her kitchen ever so often.
When Wai Yee first learnt about user experience research, she truly appreciates the value of usability as she had her fair share of struggles in using unfriendly websites and apps. She utilizes her domain knowledge in psychology to analyze and design human computer interaction. She finds joy in humanizing digital products and making the journey smooth and easy for all. When Wai Yee is not working, she considers herself a lifelong part-time baker. If you are looking for company in jogging, hiking, swimming or even daydreaming, Wai Yee could be a good candidate.
Tey Swan Ling
Swan Ling’s interest in digital UX piqued after learning how even little improvements in an app or website can greatly improve users’ experience. As a user herself, she wished to be heard when encountered with difficulties in the digital space as well. Because of that, she dived into the UX research field to utilise her knowledge and skills from psychology and teaching to contribute towards better user experience for all in the digital space. Outside of work, Swan Ling enjoys a good conversation, a good workout, and spontaneous adventures.
Lead Software Engineer
With a degree in electrical and computer systems engineering, Poh Xiang develops digital products that fulfil both user and business needs. He spends his time solving programming challenges. Aside from that, he enjoys watching movies with mind-blowing plot twists.
Senior Software Engineer
Mike has years of experience doing UX with the company and he believes that a good UX researcher requires great attention to detail. He honed such skills from working as a professional engineer previously in 2 multinational companies. Since being with Netizen, he has been engaged in multiple projects that have helped various companies to improve their user experience. If you have an interest in hiking, rock climbing, or diving, you would be in good company with Mike.
Senior Software Engineer
With a degree in biomedical engineering majoring in prosthetics and orthotics, Harmony cares deeply about providing products and services that can improve the user’s quality of life. She has experience in producing assistive devices for persons with disabilities and believes that great technology is only as good as its ability to effectively and efficiently interact with its user. Aside from that, she is a big fan of the sci-fi and fantasy genre, loves music, books, and animals.
As a graduate in Software Engineering, Afiqah finds joy in learning how to solve problems through programming and utilizes what she has learnt to build software interfaces that are user friendly. Observing users’ reactions while using a website is the moment of truth that has helped her to understand the importance of good UX and how different people use the website differently. Apart from that, she is a foodie and has a really soft spot for animals, especially cats.
With a degree in Software Engineering, Kuo Hong enjoys the process of transforming designs into fully functional websites, with a touch of his own creativity. When he is not attending any duties, you can find him playing in the basketball court, or watching tech-related contents alongside with a cup of nice hot black coffee.
Shermaine is deeply passionate about developing software applications where she believes in the significance of a good user interface and experience. She knows there is no perfect software as technology always advances, so she continues to utilize her logical-thinking skills as well as her creative mind to build better software that excels in both functionality and user-friendliness. She holds a Bachelor’s in Computer Science from Sunway University. During her leisure time, she enjoys doing arts and crafts, playing Animal Crossing or visiting cafes.
Amien H. Sha'ari
Amien loves tinkering around with computers and experimenting with them. He finds joy in trying to fix stuff, whether it’s a computer bug, or some loose wire in an alarm clock. He started coding when he was 14, and he isn’t stopping anytime soon. When he isn’t fixing bugs or implementing cool new features, you can find him exploring the city in search of good food.
With his previous life as a civil engineer, Wei Loong understands that a solid foundation is necessary to build structures that will last a long time. Hence, he believes that having a good understanding of basic concepts in programming can help build a strong foundation for lifelong learning and application. He enjoys playing badminton, watching movies or solving algorithm problems in his free time.
Lead UX Designer
Pradeep is passionate about creating experiences that are delightful and at same time usable for the users. He leads design projects with a focus on user testing and data driven iteration. His role as a UX Designer sees him working on information architecture design, interaction design and front end development.
Senior UX Designer
Mei Wui designs experience with empathy. Despite of her background in user interface design, she loves exploring approaches that contribute in crafting a meaningful design for people. She believes that a great design can empower people to do things better, faster, easier and happier. Salmon is always her favourite food!
Megan is a German Linguistics graduate with a passion in art and design. She spent her time designing posters and T-Shirts for events in her schooling years and found her way into UX through self learning. Realising that poorly designed sites and apps can lead to a frustrating experience, she is now keen on exploring and creating design approaches that are engaging and pleasant to users. You can hear her blurt out random deutsche Wörter when she’s trying to discuss designs with her team. Watching design documentaries and making digital illustrations are the things that keep her awake after midnight.
Gwen is filled with passion and persistence in producing good quality as well as meaningful designs. She is interested in understanding the true needs and problems behind the projects. Also, she likes to analyze problems from a different perspective in order to get suitable solutions. She does not give up easily and embraces new ideas or feedback as she values knowledge and respects intellectuals above all else.
Designer by day, Gamer by night, Arvindh is constantly striving to craft the best experiences that provide ease of use for the user. Using his background in multimedia design, he adds things from graphics to motion design to then give the users a more pleasant experience. He loves to explore new design trends and find new ways to improve users’ experience. Being an extreme film buff, he can watch series in one night and has an interest in becoming a filmmaker. He is an avid gamer who enjoys story-driven games and is always on the lookout for new and exciting games. Something that Arvindh always likes to say is: “when in need reach out as I am always ready to help.
Office Admin Executive
With her qualifications in business administration, Fitri has been actively assisting on administrative tasks and is responsible for ensuring office operates effectively. Other than that, ensuring that everyone in the office is well-fed, is also one of the fun tasks which she enjoys doing. During her leisure time, watching dramas or food hunting will be her go-to activities.
Business Development Executive
With a degree in Psychology, Alex is passionate about helping others to achieve their goals and loves engaging with people. His eagerness to learn fueled him to equip necessary skills and knowledge to collaborate with clients. Alex is here to help companies to understand their concerns and provide insights on how to tackle them. He likes karaoke, video games, music and building computers.
